Acupuncture Comes to Clifton, New Jersey

Acupuncture is a great addition to the services offered at On Track Chiropractic Center.  Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese holistic alternative therapy that has been practiced for more than 5000 years. Modern science has indicated that acupuncture stimulates the nervous system, causing it to release chemicals and hormones, which influence the body’s internal regulating system, stimulating natural healing processes and promoting physical and emotional health.

How Does Acupuncture Work?

Focusing on the release of natural healing energies, acupuncturists use fine, sterile needles, which are painlessly inserted at specific points of the body. According to traditional theory, there are as many as 2000 acupuncture points on the human body. There points are connected by 20 pathways called meridians, which conduct energy or Qi. This energy is believed to regulate balance in the body. The process is pain free and deeply relaxing.

Meet Our Acupuncturist: Elena Rozenfeld LAC, MTClifton Chiropractor

Elena uses a computerized meridians assessment technology on the initial consultation. This test is used to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of a person’s energetic health and balance. This process involves measuring electrical conductivity at responsive points on the skin-typically on the hands and feet. These measurements are recorded to help provide a profile of a patient’s condition. She uses the information gathered to determine the next step in a patient’s health care. She combines acupuncture with acupressure (massaging the same acupuncture points). The application of both create more effective relief of symptoms and illness, and feels good.

How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
Are aches and pains good or bad?
While aches or pains may be unpleasant, they're merely warning signs. As a Clifton chiropractor, I see this all the time. The pain is not the problem! It just means a limitation has been reached and something needs to change. That's when we get to work correcting the underlying cause.
